About Datatecnix
Datatecnix Limited was formed in March 1991 as the result of a management buy-out.
Over the years Datatecnix has successfully implemented specialist accounting software, integrated supplies management and works order processing into local government and the emergency services.
The specialist accounting software is known as Opex. The development of the Opex system is by local authority for local authority. The result is a standard package that satisfies users, management and audit and ultimately reduces the investment required.
Opex and e-procurement integrates supplies management, works order processing and accounting to reduce transcription errors and staff costs. Complete audit trails show who did what and when.
The Datatecnix system caters for devolved budgets. It allows individual budget holders to have complete control over their spend, whilst at the same time ensuring segregation of duties is maintained.
Opex system users can extract up to date management information to provide the necessary performance indicators needed to satisfy the requirements for best value.
More recently, Datatecnix has introduced e-procurement. The e-Government Interoperability Framework (e-Gif), states that e-procurement must be in place by 2005. The e-procurement module can be used in isolation, with an existing procurement system or attached to existing Opex systems.
